OKLAHOMA CITY — Gov. Kevin Stitt has approved emergency rules that will update the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority's current regulations.

The emergency rules also will establish new license categories in accordance with statutory modifications made during the 2019 legislative session, officials said in a news release. The new forms and applications will be available on the OMMA's website starting Aug. 30, and the new emergency rules will go into effect Sept. 14.

"For patients, the changes include the ability to obtain a medical marijuana recommendation from physicians licensed by and in good standing with the Oklahoma Podiatric Medical Examiners Board," the news release states.
